Baby Mojo

It's a new week and that means a new Mojo Monday Sketch. I used the sketch to create this baby card for my grandparents to send to my cousin and his wife, who are expecting a little boy in August.

Round and square punches helped me create a paper sailboat that looks like the image in the Nursery Necessities stamp set, since I myself do not own that set. The "baby" portion of the sentiment comes from a stamp in Teeny Tiny Wishes, which will be released on July 1st. The Delicate Dots Designer Series Paper was a free bonus during Sale-a-Bration (ask me how to earn free products) and is no longer available, but there are dozens of other DSP patterns that would be just as cute. The "thread" on the button is just a thin strip of card stock.

Father's Day Mojo Monday

I actually made this card last Monday or Tuesday, but it's been a busy week and I've been a delinquent blogger. The inspiration for this card came from Mojo Monday Sketch 91.

Being that this is a masculine card, the ribbon on the sentiment (new - debuting July 1st!) doesn't thrill me, but I kept it. Other than that, I am fairly pleased with how this turned out. The retiring Manchester Designer Series Paper is perfect for masculine projects and I will be sad to see it go on June 30th.

Also featured are Baja Breeze Double Stitched Ribbon, the Lovely As A Tree stamp set (see all images in set below), Always Artichoke Classic ink, and a couple of items from the upcoming debut.

Page Corner Bookmark

Here is a cute project I saw in my July issue of the Stampin' Success magazine (demonstrators receive a monthly subscription) this morning. Given my love of reading, I am always in need of new bookmarks, so this was a perfect project for me! The best part is its simplicity and quickness - often a necessity with an active toddler in the house. :)

This bookmark required just a 4x4 piece of card stock, some scraps of patterned paper, punches, and adhesive. I didn't do any stamping, but you could if you spent just a few more minutes than I. (See end of post for a list of supplies I used.) Last winter, I found a different version of this bookmark, but Stampin' Up!'s directions are MUCH easier to complete.

Farewell, Bella Blossoms

Here are a couple of cards I made with the soon-to-be-retired Bella Blossoms set.

The Kiwi Kiss version is one I saw on the Stampin' Up! website. I decided to also make a Riding Hood Red version to show you how one design can result in different looks, depending on your recipient or the occasion. I LOVE this card for its elegant simplicity and ease of use. The inside or outside can be customized with any sentiment of choice.

Bella Blossoms, Kiwi Kiss, and Riding Hood Red are all retiring from Stampin' Up! inventory at the end of this month. I will be quite sad to say goodbye to Bella Blossoms, primarily for the largest image in the set. I will also REALLY miss the gorgeous Kiwi Kiss/Vanilla Satin Ribbon, one of my favorite products this past year. Right now both the Kiwi Kiss and Riding Hood Red ribbons I featured are 25% off on the Last Chance Accessories list! They are available only until the end of June 30th, or while supplies last.

Last Chance Stamps and Accessories!

Blogging Debut

After MUCH hesitation and inner debate, I decided to attempt blogging for stamping. I was persuaded by other Stampin' Up! demonstrators that blogging is the most effective way to let my customer friends know about current techniques and fun finds.

So, here we go! Please forgive me for lapses in updates or for blogging errors, as I am VERY new to this. :)

As far as stamping and crafting is concerned, this blog will be devoted almost entirely to Stampin' Up!, as it is my true crafting love. I do not design or sell for any other company, nor do I intend to do so in the future. Although I have tried using other stamp and paper products, I always return to Stampin' Up! because of the outstanding quality.

Once in awhile, I may post something related to family, but I will primarily focus on trying to show you all the fun world of paper crafting and home decor.

Oh, for those curious, my blog header "Once Upon a Stamp" combines my love of stamping with my even greater love of reading (GASP!). Those of you who know me already know what an unabashed, nerdy bookworm I am. I spent my childhood holed up in my bedroom with books, rather than fight my eight siblings for television time, enduring endless teasing from my brother and his friends about his nerdy sister. Ah, fun times.
