Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #17

With two babies in the house, this fairly simple card took me all week to complete! I've been viewing Dawn McVey's color challenges for a few months, but this is the first time I felt compelled to participate. The colors were so beautiful that I really wanted to play, even if it did take me a week to carve out time.

Here is my card creation for the Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #17 (due to limited time, I'll have to post the details later), which can also be found in my SCS gallery:

My 20 month old daughter damaged the trees a bit, but I kept them rather than redo all of the embossing and cutting.

It's Different . . .

Well, this card is out of my comfort zone, as I usually shy away from Handsome Hunter. I'm not thrilled about pairing my beloved Certainly Celery with it, but perhaps it will grow on me. The "designer paper" used inspired the color combo and is actually a cutting from a photo in The English Garden magazine. Using something on my card that came in the mail met the requirements for a fun, recently launched challenge called Everything But the Kitchen Sink. It appears that these challenges will be monthly and you have until October 9th to participate in this one. Check it out and play along - I would love to see what you use from your mail.

The sketch, which I love and will definitely be using for future cards, was a no-brainer because I used the Fall-to Layout 62 from the Clean & Simple Stamping blog. I heart clean and simple cards! I do not own a tool that will give me just the three large scallops for this sketch, but I think the four smaller scallops work for now.
